Intersection

By Marissa Voytenko

This painting was originally something else entirely. On completion of the original painting, I realized I didn’t like it at all. So I asked the Lord to help me problem solve. He revealed to that I was unsatisfied because I was painting the work to please someone else. This epiphany gave me the freedom to begin again. I scrapped the old painting and painted right over it (twelve hours spent on a painting doesn’t matter if it’s a bad painting). Then I asked the Lord to clarify what the new composition should be and asked for joy in the painting process. This He answered! I love seeing how the Lord answers and redeems the work the work of my hands.
