My first Sunday at Resurrection was in the spring of 1984, at the end of my 6th grade year. We’d just moved to the Wheaton area and found the church by searching in the Yellow Pages. My brother and I were the only kids at Resurrection back then. In my late teens – early twenties, my family life went through a challenging season and my faith in God came to the brink of breaking. One day, in desperation and anger, I sat outside the small Christian publisher I was working at, shook my fist at the Lord and said, “if you think you can do any better with my life then you can have it!” Well, that’s all the Lord needed; those words were enough to open a teeny, tiny crack in my heart and He gently began to draw me to Himself and transform my life—every single aspect of my life—and he’s never stopped! Isaiah 43 says “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Amen.
I love the Lord and I love Resurrection! I’ve been baptized, confirmed, and married my husband, Don, here. We have four children: Donny, Allison, Annalisa and James, all baptized and three confirmed, at Resurrection.
In 2009 I had the honor of joining the Resurrection staff team, and in Jan 2011, I transitioned to being Bishop (then Father) Stewart’s assistant. After Bp. Stewart was consecrated bishop in 2013, my job responsibilities split between Resurrection and diocesan work. I am often asked what I do at Resurrection… I just smile because my “job” is to partner with one of the godliest men I’ve ever known as we serve the Lord and His Church in proclaiming the Gospel.
