I trace my finger in font—
It is Sunday again.
Hidden wells stir
Eyes brim storied salt
A resonance.
I slow my step with the saints
Catch wind of Holy Breath:
A song and silence
Dappled sunstreams
Kiss lilted face.
I look up.
Scar-marked hands rise open
Well worn words unfold:
The Body of Christ
Thanks be to God
A remembrance.
Palms outstretched receive Body unto body.
Love, Seed of Delight
Plants Himself in me—
I taste. I see.
Brielle Smith first visited Rez in 2021, and returned because of an inexplicable “coming home” feeling during Eucharist. She works as a therapist in the area and enjoys the art of paying attention through her senses–especially to movements of light.
Advent/Christmas Exhibit
Each week of Advent a new visual artist and poet was featured in our RezArts Gallery. These original pieces invite you into the anticipation of Christ’s coming through a representation of each week’s theme: hope, peace, love, and joy. This series culminated in a fifth display celebrating Christmas. Visit the Advent Exhibit in RezCafe, on display until January 12.
