Update on Ongoing Investigation of Abuse in Diocese

Warning: The contents linked below are of a sensitive nature and may be difficult to read, especially for those who may have personal stories of trauma or abuse.

Dear Resurrection Family,

As many of you know, Bishop Stewart wrote a letter several weeks ago which gave the details of a devastating situation involving a former member of our diocese, Mark Rivera. I want to make you aware of this update he wrote to our diocese this evening.

Please join me in prayer for the victims and all those who have suffered. Let us pray for healing and restoration, for the full truth to come to light, and for our diocese to grow in our understanding of how to protect the most vulnerable in our midst.

If you are in need of pastoral care for any reason, whether it relates to this situation or because of what this brings up, our pastoral staff would love to serve you. Simply reach out to office@churchrez.org and one of our pastors will respond.

If you or someone you know may have been harmed by Mark, or if you have any concerns or information connected to this investigation, we encourage you to contact the independent investigative firm at Reports@GrandRiverSolutions.com to make a confidential and safe inquiry.

In Christ,
