God and Country: How Should Christians Think about and Engage in Politics

October 20 @ 9:15 am - 10:15 am

In the midst of another contentious presidential election season, many Christians are confused about how to engage politically. Should Christians care about politics? If so, how should we be involved? Does the Bible and the Church provide any guidance?

We’ll explore all these questions with Dr. Bryan McGraw, professor of politics at Wheaton College.

Oct. 20 9:15-10:15 am – Session 1: The New Testament and Politics: What does the Bible have to say about politics and what does that mean for Christians today?

Oct. 27 9:15-10:15 am – Session 2: An Introduction to Political Theologies: How has the Church grappled theologically with the nature and purpose of politics?

Nov. 3 12:30-2:00 pm – Session 3: Christians and American Politics Today: How do we think about our place in a rapidly changing America? How can Christians express their values in politics? How do we think about voting?

Bring your own lunch for the third session.
