Our Baby Bank partners at Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago distributed thousands of diapers at an outreach event on Saturday, April 24, organized by Pastor Michael Wright. A robbery had depleted the church’s entire stock for the event a few weeks earlier, but generous donors and corporations multiplied baby supplies by at least five times. “We probably had about 6-7,000 diapers before… now we might have at least 30-40,000 diapers,” Pastor Michael told a reporter.
Besides receiving bags of baby supplies, participants enjoyed BBQ and Gospel music, plus heard the Gospel in English or Spanish.
“Every stage of the day was beautiful, from setup to distribution to cleanup,” said Julia Damion, Rez missions manager. “The way the Lord, the community, and the Church showed up to bless so many families and children was truly awesome.”
After the event, Pastor Michael texted, “You guys started something HUGE, and we at Christ T appreciate Rez so much!”
