The Lessons

Old Testament, Psalm, or New Testament

Psalm 92

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, *
and to sing praises unto your Name, O Most High,

2 To tell of your loving-kindness early in the morning, *
and of your faithfulness in the night season,

3 Upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the lute, *
with the sound of melody upon the harp.

4 For you, Lord, have made me glad by your deeds, *
and I will shout for joy because of your handiwork.

5 O Lord, how glorious are your works; *
your thoughts are very deep.

6 The dull of heart does not consider this, *
and a fool does not understand it:

7 Though the ungodly are as green as the grass, and though
all the workers of wickedness flourish, *
they shall be destroyed for ever; but you, Lord, are
the Most High for evermore.

8 For lo, your enemies, O Lord, lo, your enemies shall perish, *
and all the workers of wickedness shall be destroyed.

9 But my horn shall be exalted like the horns of wild bulls; *
for I am anointed with fresh oil.

10 My eye also shall see its desire upon my enemies, *
and my ear shall hear with joy the end of the wicked
who rise up against me.

11 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, *
and shall spread abroad like a cedar in Lebanon.

12 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord *
shall flourish in the courts of our God.

13 They also shall bring forth fruit in their old age, *
and shall be green and full of sap,

14 That they may show how upright the Lord is, *
my rock, in whom there is no unrighteousness.

The Sermon

Sermon

Fr. Brett Crull

The Apostles' Creed

ALL: I believe in God, the Father almighty,
     creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
     He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
     He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
     He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
     the holy catholic Church,
     the communion of saints,
     the forgiveness of sins,
     the resurrection of the body,
     and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People

LEADER: Lord, in your mercy.

ALL: Hear our prayer.

The Confession of Sin

DEACON: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

(Please be seated or kneel. There will be a time of silence.)

ALL: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

CELEBRANT: Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.

God of power and might.
Heaven and earth are full, O Lord,
Full of your glory!
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is he who comes in the name,
The name of the Lord.
Blessed is he who comes in the name,
The name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna in the highest!

CELEBRANT: . . . All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ. By him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever.

ALL: Amen.

CELEBRANT: And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to pray,

ALL: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
For ever and ever,
Amen.

Songs of Worship

Be Enthroned

We’ve come to join the song
Sung long before our lives
To raise our voice along
Heaven and earth alike

We’ve seen Your faithful hand
Your mercy without end
The King who bled and died
A God who sacrificed

Be enthroned upon the praises
Of a thousand generations
You are worthy Lord of all
And unto You the slain and risen King
We lift our voice with heaven
Singing worthy Lord of all

All through this life we lead
And on to eternity
Our endless praise we cry
Jesus be glorified

Highest praises Lord of all

True belief and true repentance
Ev’ry grace that brings you nigh

Shout For Joy

Pour out your fervent praise
There’s a song to raise
Like a banner high
Lift up your grateful heart
To the Morning Star
He’s alive and here with us

Shout for joy
For the Son of God is the Saving One
He’s the Saving One
Shout for joy
See what love has done
He has come for us
He’s the Saving One

We stood on sinking sand
He reached out His hand
Pulled us to His side
We turned our hearts away
He was strong to save
Now our Savior reigns in us

There is no other God like You
We sing the praises that You’re due
Jesus You have saved us
Oh whoa
There is no other God who reigns
You are the Name above all names
Jesus You have saved us
