Though this tree experienced some catastrophic trauma that left it with a hole and huge fissure in the trunk, it’s nonetheless vigorous and thriving. Early winter is a great time to meditate on rejoicing in hope and being patient in tribulation as I portray a tree that has stood steady and steadfast for many decades. It also reminds me of the promises in Ps. 1 and Jeremiah 17:7.
